Believe It, See It, and Wait for It

• By

Sometimes I wonder if this is still a dream.  A little past five months have gone by since God blessed us with our sweet, little Benjamin. I cried and prayed for over ten years for a healthy baby.  I researched.  There were times when I gave up on the idea of being a mommy because I thought maybe it’s just not in the cards. Then, I went back to crying and praying again.

When I finally let go and learned how to be okay with God’s timing, everything happened! I got engaged, married, and found out I was pregnant all within the same year.  It was overwhelming yet surreal.  The baby that doctors told me I would probably never have naturally due to PCOS, was born on June 2, 2017.

I am asking God for some more major blessings in my life and whenever I get frustrated, I look at this little face and remember that God is hearing me and He will answer in His way, in His own time.

Thank you Benjamin for teaching me already how to be fully present and enjoy every minute of life.  You are truly our miracle and answered prayer, and a living testimony of the power of faith in God.

Ladies, if there is anything you have been wishing, praying, and crying for believe with your whole heart that God will give you just what you need at the right time.  I mean, really see yourself where you want to be and then wait on God to do His thing.  I waited over ten years but let me tell you– it is truly magical!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”- Jeremiah 29:11

Hey loves! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah!  Whatever you celebrate I hope that each one of you are finding a way to be thankful, find peace, and realize how important you are.  No matter what you may be going through, know that this WILL pass and there is so much more for you on the other side of any curveball that life throws at you.  I promise!

I’ve been ghost for a minute but, for a few great reasons.

Hello, September! New Month, New Goals

• By

Things to Do in September

Hey loves! September is here and I am embracing the slightly (emphasis on slightly) cooler temps. here in the ATL.  All year I have been pretty focused on having faith over fear, and going for the gusto when it comes to living.

I’m more of a weekly to-do list maker and a yearly goals list writer but, I was reading the fabulous fashion blogger, Mattieologie‘s goals posts for September and she inspired me to get crackin’ on some September to-do’s of my own.

Start podcasts

Writing blogs are cool but, I want to add a new way to reach my followers so I am going to start doing podcasts! I’ve never done one but, I am ready to learn.

Record first Periscope

Have you heard about the new thing poppin? Periscope! It’s a live video stream network and I like it so far.  I have come across some pretty neat people on there and have been able to get some valuable tidbits about business, blogging, beauty tips, and inspiration.  I’ll be recording on there this month! You can find me on Periscope @candicess talking about every part of women’s health including mental health, empowerment, fitness and more.

Write an e-book

For a few years now I have felt impressed to write an e-book.  I had a few topics in mind and have finally narrowed it down to one.  Stay tuned ladies!

Do what I love full-time

I have become so tired of my 9 to 5.  It really is not what I want to do for a living and while I try to make the most of my days there, I can feel in my spirit that it is almost time for me to go.   I only want to pursue all of the things I love going forward.  Whether it’s my career, hobbies, and everything in-between.  This month and definitely by the end of this year, it will happen.  I want every cell of my body and spirit to feel alive!

Apply to grad school

I am applying to grad school to help me achieve the goal previously mentioned.  It’s a nerve-racking process but, so necessary for me to take the next step.

I do not travel nearly as much as I would like to.  I want to go to a city/state I’ve never been to starting this month.  Savannah? Destin? Myrtle Beach?  There’s a vast world out there and I want to be able to see as much of it as possible.

What are your goals for September?
