Skin Care: Natural Laundry Detergent

• By

Hey loves! I know it’s been a minute or two since I have posted. Mommy life, work life, and wife life were taking up every second of my 24 hours, and to be honest I was having a difficult time finding the energy to log on and post. At the end of the day, even my fingers were exhausted but, here I am!

Today I’m sharing my top picks for natural laundry detergent.

I can clearly remember people looking at me crazy when I talked about choosing not to use Dreft baby detergent when Benjamin was born but, for me it was important to be careful about what I put on his skin.

If I watch what I put on my skin then, why wouldn’t I do the same for him?

The Danger in Most Laundry Detergent Ingredients

Some of the chemicals and fragrances found in most detergents are just not worth the intoxicating laundry scent we’re used to (I used to LOVE the Tide fresh scent!).  They have been known to cause skin and eye irritation, and some are even possible carcinogens (cancer-causing).  When I was pregnant and found this out, I knew had to switch.

My top 4 picks

From my research and looking at reviews, the following four natural detergents are on my list. I have not used all of these as yet but, they are on my list until I find one I want to settle on.  Currently, I use Tide Free and Clear but I’m looking for something truly natural. All of the following contain essential oils, no toxic chemicals, plant-based ingredients, and are safe to use in front and top loading HE machines.

  1. Tandi’s Naturals laundry soap
  2. EcoMe Laundry detergent
  3. GreenShield laundry detergent
  4. Pure laundry detergent
