Faith Over Fear for the New Year

• By

Happy 2016, love bugs! I know I’m two days late but, better late than never, right?

I went to a New Year’s eve get-together at my honey’s friend’s house and probably danced and mingled a little too hard.  My face did not hit my pillow until around the ungodly hour of 4 a.m. The next day my body seriously felt like I had been hit by a sack of bright, red bricks.  Those super late nights and early mornings just don’t agree with my body anymore like they did back when I was in college.  Needless to say, I am just feeling some sense of normalcy today so, Happy New Year to ya!

Anyways, I am pushing like crazy, like I have ALL year, to be more conscious of my thoughts and living each day with purpose and intention.  Some days were a real struggle! You know those days where you just feel like you are running on a hamster wheel doing, planning, and praying constantly only to look up and it’s like you’re standing still.

This year though I am being much more intentional and fearless—and I sincerely mean it. No more second guessing myself or playing the “what if” game.  If I believe that God has a special plan for my life and has placed certain dreams and visions in my heart, I MUST go after them with Him leading me all the way.

I have been too timid in certain areas of my life because I could not see how it would work but, I know that I must step out on faith and out of my comfort zone.  It can be extremely scary but, on the other side will be lessons, changes, and blessings that will exceed my wildest expectations.

One thing I have done was complete a  huge vision board with all of the things I want to accomplish.  I also put on there pics and words reflective of the life I want– how I want to look, feel, and what I see myself doing every day.  I  made sure to cover other areas like  finances, service (giving back is very important to me), and family life (Lord knows I’m still waiting for an engagement but, more on that later).

The board turned out beautifully and I posted it on my bedroom wall so, I could look at each day without fail.
